“Between Worlds” is the new full-length CD/DVD produced by Akumu for 2011 — his follow-up to “Descent” (NoType/ Panospria), “Tapeten DVD” (Spider) and “Magmas/Fluxes” (Spider). The 8 tracks present dirges, drones and wide open sound-vistas which urge listeners slowly forward — part of Akumu’s exploration of a moment in between living and not.Also available is a 60-minute DVD of abstract and experimental videos created by Akumu that delivers an immersive surround-sound and visual experience of “Between Worlds”. Shot entirely using macro- and water-based photography combined with extreme hi-grain film effects, the DVD dives deeper to reveal a glimpse of Akumu’s dark and languid world. |
